Privacy Policy

This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your choices. CluckCoach is not a HIPAA-covered entity and we do not describe your data as "HIPAA-protected." Some of the data we handle is health-related; see also our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice.

Information we collect

Account: email and authentication details. Profile & preferences: age/date of birth, the body stats you enter for calorie math, goals, mode, and coach tone. Activity you log: workouts, meals, daily check-ins, mood, Hunger Help events, and athlete data. AI coach: your chat messages and a durable "memory" summary you can view and delete. Technical: device and limited usage data needed to run and secure the Service.

How we use it

To generate your rule-based plans, run the AI coach, show your dashboard and progress, provide support, process payments, keep the Service secure, and comply with law. We do not use your health-related data for advertising, and we do not sell it. We exclude minors' data from any AI model training or fine-tuning.

How we share it

With service providers strictly to operate the Service (e.g., hosting, database, payment processing, and the AI model providers that generate coach responses), under contract and only as needed. We disclose the use of third-party AI in our AI Disclosure. We may disclose data to comply with law or protect rights and safety. We do not place third-party advertising or analytics trackers on screens where your health-related data is collected or displayed, and we do not upload your information (including hashed identifiers) to advertising platforms.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, to opt out of "sale" or "sharing," and to limit use of sensitive personal information. You can export or delete your account and data in-app or by contacting privacy@cluckcoach.app. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out of sale/sharing. California residents may use a "Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information" request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

AI coach & voice

Coach responses are AI-generated (see AI Disclosure). For Voice Coach, raw audio is not stored by default; only transcripts are retained when voice is used, and you can delete them. You can clear the coach's memory and individual remembered facts in Settings.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data only as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it. Minors' activity data is subject to a tighter retention limit and automated purge. You can delete your account at any time; deletion removes or anonymizes your personal data except where we must retain limited records by law.

Security

Your data is scoped to your account and protected by row-level security and access controls; other users cannot access it. No system is perfectly secure, but we maintain safeguards appropriate to the data's sensitivity.

Breach notification

If a security incident affects your personal or health-related data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law, including the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule and state breach laws, within the required timeframes.

International users

If you are in the EU/UK, health, mood, and related data may be "special category" data processed on the basis of your explicit consent (or another lawful basis), and you have rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR. If you are in Canada, we handle data under PIPEDA and applicable provincial law. Where we transfer data internationally, we use lawful transfer mechanisms.

Children

The Service is for ages 13+. See Children & Teen Privacy. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
